Planning The Village

Community teams and partners have stepped up to work together on a cultural village plan. Beginning in 2010 this cultural village plan takes the planning for the Market-Euclid hub in southeastern San Diego to the next level. This fourth round of planning builds on the work that preceded it with the Euclid Place3s Plan, the EMAT Plan, and the City of Villages Plan. Each cycle of planning has solidified the action steps for the next set of priorities and at the same time deepened and broadened resident participation in envisioning the future of the community they want for themselves and for their children.

The City of San Diego is mandating that Southeastern Economic Development Corporation (SEDC) update the Redevelopment Plans for four project areas (including The Village at Market Creek) within the larger Southeastern San Diego Community Plan, based on new economic studies. This is an important opportunity to work with SEDC and City Planners to develop forward-thinking, flexible guidelines for future mixed-use development, permitting and funding affecting The Village.
